Fading Mist steps onto the High Rock and howls for the Pack to gather. "Today," she begins. "The Qakaarti Pack will have the pride of training three new young wolves to be regulars and to serve as Almosts until such time that they are skilled enough to fully serve the Pack. Her gaze falls upon Primula Alpicola and her cubs. "From this day until they are able to fully serve the Pack, Primula Alpicola and Derthutus Arajensys's cubs, Kejidega Rantos, Snow Pine, and Lilika Mint, will learn from their elders and from all other wolves in the Pack and will train as Almosts." She dips her head to the new Almosts, and leaps off the rock.

Kegidega Rantos, Snow Pine, and Lilika Mint fidget nervously on the rock as everyone turns to look at them. When Fading Mist finishes her speech, they each bow their heads back in return, and follow her off the rock. They go to their parents, who congradulate them, and chatter with each other in excitement.
"I'm an Almost! I'm an Almost!" squeals little Lilika Mint to her older siblings.
"Yes, sister, we all are. Isn't it exciting?" responds Snow Pine in her gentle voice. She nudges her little sister to get her to calm down, and turns to her brother as he says:
"Quit it, guys! We're Almosts now. We gotta be mature. Being an almost isn't just about the title. We have to train with the other pack wolves and then we can become regulars and serve the pack. Like Mom and Dad and Aunt Rolianthus Eromata." he gives each of them as stern a look as he can, trying to be grown-up like his father. Derthutus Arajensys walks up and nods to his pups.
"That's right, Kegidega Rantos. Girls, listen to what your brother says. He's right." He turns to greet his mate, who pads over to talk to them.
"Oh, my cubs... already Almosts! Soon they'll be trained and off to become regulars and..." she got a sad look on her face and Derthutus Arajensys nuzzled her face. She continued, "Come, puppies. We need to go introduce you with your new status to everyone. They will help to train you."
The family walked into the crowd of wolves at the Rock and met the different wolves.

Silver Rose, River Stone, Red Willow, and Lapping Wave bound up to the new Almosts. "Congratulations!" squeals Silver Rose. River Stone nods. "Being an Almost is awesome! You get to fight and serve your Pack! Fighting's epic! Like this!" He leaps at Red Willow, but while he's in midair, his sister flips onto her back and outstretches her legs to catch him before he hits her. She catches him and flips him. "I win," she says smugly, as River Stone goes limp and she slackens her grip. River Stone surges up and throws her off. "What was that?" he challenges. He lunges for her, slides under her belly, battering her as he slides, then twists around and jabs her Achilles tendon, making her knees buckle, then knocks her down and pins her, so she can't throw him off. "I want a rematch!" Red Willow wails as her brother releases her. He turns his head and replies curtly, "Later." Lapping Wave looks at the younger Almosts, and tells them, "It's not just about fighting. It's about serving your pack to the best of your abilities. You'll be sleeping in the Almost den with us and Falcon Talons, Sweeping Wind, Lightning Spark, and Shadow Forest!" she adds excitedly.

Kegidega Ranots looks up as the other Almosts bound up to him and his siblings. "Hi!" he says, wagging his tail. He smiles at River Stone's enthusiastic opinion, and barks excitedly when he starts play fighting with his sister. Snow Pine and Lilika Mint join him in giggling as the pair argues about who is the winner of their "fight".
Little Lilika Mint goes up to Red Willow after she is beaten, gazing up at her with admiration. "Wow..." she breathes. "That was so cool! What a great idea, to catch him and flip him over as he tried to jump on you! Will I get to learn how to fight as part of my training?" The little she-wolf's jaw was slack in awe and she stared at Red Willow, deciding on the spot this wolf was her new idol.
Snow Pine was actually paying attention to Lapping Wave as she spoke to them, unlike her brother and sister. "It's not just about fighting. It's about serving your pack to the best of your abilities. You'll be sleeping in the Almost den with us and Falcon Talons, Sweeping Wind, Lightning Spark, and Shadow Forest!" said the wolf, and Snow Pine yipped with excitement. "Awesome! This is going to be so much fun!" she said, then wondered if they would be okay sleeping in a different den then their parents. They had never been seperated from their parents (or Aunt)... but she straightened up, wanting to be as mature and non-parent-need-y as she believed all Almosts were.
The pups -no, Almosts- chattered with their new friends while their parents and Aunt looked on, smiling. Only Primula Alpicola's smile faltered for a second when she thought of her precious cubs leaving her. But her mate and best friend comforted her, reminding her that they wouldn't be far, and she would still get to see them sometimes during their training. She put on a brave face and dared to feel happy that her pups were growing up.

Red Willow smiles at Lilika Mint. "Yeah, you'll learn to fight like that in training. I can teach you that move if you want."

Fading Mist bounds up to her best friend. "Soaring Eagle!" she cries. "It's so great that you're back! Did I preform the ceremony right?" she adds anxiously.

"Oh, yes," says Soaring Eagle. "Perfectly. Sorry I was gone so long. I was investigating reports of humans in our territory."

Fading Mist shrugs. "Well, you're back now. Speaking of Almosts, isn't it about time our cubs became Regulars. They've been training for so long."
